This will show you how to enable airplay mirroring on iphone 4s and ipad2

double click the home button to show the running tasks
swipe left on the running tasks to show the ipod shortcuts
swipe left again
you will see the airplay icon

if you clic the airplay icon then you can pick the airplay output for the device.
you can also turn mirroring on.
