Milngavie to Partick

Woke up this morning and had bramley apple and pork sausages and freshly ground coffee.
We decided that we were going to walk from milngavie to partick along the kelvin walkway so that we could complete the bit we havent done yet which meant getting the train from partick to milnguavie. It also means that once we reach Fort William at the end of our west highland way trek we will have walked all the way from our flat (although not in one sitting).
Its a nice sunny day, so we had a ten minute explore of milnguavie town centre, saw the start of the west highland way(but didnt take photos because zoe wants to save that for next time) and then headed along the allander burn to the tickled trout for a pint.

After we left the pub the path was very overgrown, so we trudged through for a few miles then crossed a busy road just after the allander joins the kelvin. After crossing the road our path was much better.

Across a field and then ended up at the edge of summerston, through maryhill park and round the street where zoe lived when she was a wee girl, then through dawsholm park and along the canal to Lock 27 for cider, fish and chips ( zoe had chicken and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes )

We jumped on the train after the food because we had too much to finish the walk (its not that far home from there, only takes an hour and a half).

some photos from the walk are here.
