Highland Park Viking Legend is a bold and richly smoky expression from one of Scotland’s most northerly distilleries, nestled on the Orkney Islands. As part of Highland Park’s Viking-themed range, Viking Legend leans into the distillery’s Norse heritage with full-throttle flavour — this is not a whisky for the faint-hearted.
Bottled at a robust 44% ABV, Viking Legend uses heavily peated Orkney barley to deliver a smoke-forward profile unlike many other Highland expressions. The nose opens with rich, fragrant peat smoke — earthy and aromatic rather than medicinal — backed by heather honey, dark red fruits, and a hint of beeswax. On the palate it’s full and warming, with smoke, dried fruit, cinnamon, and a distinctive sweetness that’s classic Highland Park. The finish is long, smoky, and deeply satisfying.
What makes Highland Park unique is the balance between their signature heathery sweetness and the boldness of Orcadian peat smoke.
