West Highland Way Day 3 – Rowardennan to the Drovers inn. We got up early today, and walked along the West Highland Way to rowardennan, sore legs after the mountain yesterday, so once at rowardennan we decided to get the ferry to luss for a wee day trip.
The ferry goes round the loch, so we could catch it on the way back, and stay on till tarbet, then get a taxi or bus to the drovers (it is a holiday after all)
we waited for the wee ferry on the pier, and it sailed right past :( I saw a second pier 500 yards down the road, so we had to sprint. The captain had spotted us and had waited. phew.
the ferry trip was cool, I had a loch lomond bonnie and blonde. We went to the coach house coffee shop in luss once we arrived. Fresh scones, pot of tea, latte.
we walked along the beach to a hotel that had balconies and tables on the beach. we chose to sit inside though – they had big leather couches!!
We pottered about for a couple of hours untill the lomond warrior came back to pick us up. the weather was still great as we sailed up the loch, back to rowardennan and on to tarbet.
at tarbet we met a couple of guys from belgium who, like us, had taken the boat and were waiting on a bus to the drovers. after 45 mins the bus pulled up and we jumped on, the driver didnt charge any of us :D
at the drovers we had a jacuzzi then went over for some food. drovers blonde and a white wine, fish and chips and a macaroni cheese !
the world cup final was on in the other room so I went for a peek before our food arrived. 0-0
after dinner we went back to our 4 post bed and put the football on the tv. crashed out before it finished. found out later that germany won!
