West Highland Way Day 4 – Inverarnan to Tyndrum. We woke up in the morning at the drovers inn fully refreshed and had a full scottish breakfast.
We set off on the West Highland Way Day 4 – Inverarnan to Tyndrum from the drovers inn at 9:45 and walked along the old military road towards Crianlarich. It was tough going as it is uphill all the way, but at a gentle gradient so it was easy enough. Then it started raining. Ponchos on. Zoe had left her proper poncho at home, so had bought a new one in the camping shop at the campsite next to the drovers inn.
We arrived at Crianlarich and went to the tea room at the train station, where met a couple who had passed us earlier in the day while we were taking photos. They were drenched! We donated a poundshop disposable poncho to them as it was still pouring down. After we ordered a cheese toastie and a roll with tattie scone and sliced sausage, the two belgian guys who we had met while waiting for the bus to the drovers inn arrived. They had booked their bags into the bag carrying after we told them about it :D
Next stop: Tyndrum
It rained. The whole way to tyndrum, except for one wee fifteen minute spell where the sun came out. We stopped in a cow-shed for some werthers original when it was a little heavy.
After it stopped raining a little, we started walking again and only stopped for a cup of tea at a campsite shop then marched on to tyndrum.
The hobbit house is absolutely fantastic.
It is warm, dry and has plugs to charge phone, wifi for internet and even a tv :) Those hobbits know how to go camping :D
