This post will show you how to enter a stronger passcode on your iphone or ipad
goto settings > general > passcode lock
uncheck ‘simple passcode’
enter your current passcode if any
enter your new passcode
if you enter only numbers then your iphone or ipad will display a numeric keypad when you unlock
if you enter aplha numeric digits then your iphone or ipad will display the full keyboard
