This post will show you how to enable webGL in safari. Google maps now supports webGL – the rendering is mostly handled by your browser, making the maps much more responsive.
to enable the new accelerated maps in safari you need to enable webGL
- goto safari > preferences
- goto advanced
- at the bottom, tick ‘show develop menu in menu bar’
- goto the develop menu, select ‘enable webGL’ at the bottom
you can now enable webGL in google maps and get hardware accelerated rendering!
