How to enable webGL in safari

This post will show you how to enable webGL in safari. Google maps now supports webGL – the rendering is mostly handled by your browser, making the maps much more responsive.
to enable the new accelerated maps in safari you need to enable webGL

  • goto safari > preferences
  • goto advanced
  • at the bottom, tick ‘show develop menu in menu bar’
  • goto the develop menu, select ‘enable webGL’ at the bottom

you can now enable webGL in google maps and get hardware accelerated rendering!
