this talk is excellent – I got some lego
we had to make a duck in 45 seconds – I didnt have any lego, so had to find some first! (managed to make it in 5 seconds!)
3 principles of lego
intrinsic motivation
active engagement
fun!
hard-fun for creative confidence, understanding kids behaviour is key.
they use gamification: milestones and rewards – once kids get in to the app they are hooked :D
lego didnt like that, they needed to emotionally connect – the half built robot talks to the kids to help them keep motivated

they collect data based on the usage from the apps (sounds like the instructions and interactive sides have their own apps) to see if their assumptions are correct!
